I've read reviews on some Cirque shows and they rave about the rhythmic gymnasts who transitioned into the Cirque...The thing is, all of them are lesser known gymnasts..
Elena Lev (she's slightly more famous because of the circus)
Maria Silaeva
Olga Pikhienko
Kristina Ivanova(I think)
I've never heard of these girls except for the cirque has anyone else? Also does anyone have news on Rebecca Jose about her participating in the Cirque? Is she in a new production? or is she replacing an act or a performer in a current show? |

I belive Beccy is in a new show, touring in 2005 ish
Apparently she is strong in the air and on the floor, which is rare. As yet
"Rebecca knows little about her future role, except she will need to have a head for heights."
So I guess its mainly aerial stuff, but im sure she will do well in whatever she does.

Becca started RG trainings when she was 16. _________________ Žuja je zakon!
Marina for Beijing! The girls has it all. Handling, expression, artistry, flexibility, perfect smile...everything that a gymnast needs to be just perfect! |

Leigh Marning from Australia is currently in Canada training with Cirque for a new show at the MGM Grand - here is a link from last year with some info - http://www.abc.net.au/stateline/vic/content/2003/s944959.htm
Leigh was one of Australia's top gymnasts for many years, she had a great ball routine at 1994 Commonwealth Games. In 2000 she tried out for the newly formed National Institute for Circus Arts (NICA) and was accepted (http://www.nica.swin.edu.au/). She was one of their first graduates. _________________ NikkiNoo

I think she was an artistic gymnast before that so she had some background skills already, but her ability to pick up the appartus skills was very good.
I am sure that Beccy's determination will allow her to acheive anything she wants. _________________ NikkiNoo
