Perfect? |
Actually it is not perfect.
1. The ideea in executing this leap is to bend the trunck, not to lift the leg high up. It is a trunck movement, not a leg one.
2. The folded leg also is not in a good position (in the photo, maybe in reality it was). The heel of folded leg must touch the thigh.
Anyway, IMO a D1 judge can "pay" this leap, but an for E, they shoud deduct at least 0,1. |

But would a gymnast with a lot of hip flexibility be required to limit her oversplit in order to acheive the desired trunk bend? _________________ "What gives me confidence is the fact that everyone gets insecure" - Andrew Garfield |

About the jump (Soldatova! ) I don't think the judge deducts the gymnast because of the leg, because she is performing the element with major amplitude (which isn't of course a mistake).
More photos of amazing elements:

Yep, I have to agree with that. Look at this one, I think is beautiful:
She has a lot of back flexibility. |

Karolina Sevastyanova.
I think this is a perfectly executed element. What do you think? |

What is that supposed to be? I've never seen a split jump with the back leg and torso turned a different way than the front leg. _________________ My youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/xxJodelleFerlandxx?feature=mhee

I think it's a split leap with 1/4 turn, in the photo she is passing from front split to side split position.
It's at the end of the routine: http://youtu.be/t_xxGudLZhM?t=3m4s
