Herbie wrote: | The case about judges from Patras has nothing to do with Deriugina or Viner. Those judges are judges from Azerbaijan, Israel etc who received yellow cards for arranging scores in Patras.
However, for what Irina Deriugina received her sanctions and why Irina Viner will have her disciplinary commission remains a secret |
Thanks for clarifying, Herbie
I hope we get to know at least the outcome soon... |

I agree, Gergely! Part of me wishes they would get rid of them all and start completely fresh. A new start.
Or I hope that they at least figure out some way to decrease the influence that these people have over the sport. Make it more of a democracy and less of a dictatorship, where one person doesn't have control over everything that happens on and off the carpet.
Maybe we're on our way to this point. If so, I will send Bruno Grandi flowers for FINALLY doing something about this mess.
I am excitedly awaiting the Summer Olympics. What kind of effects will these disciplinary hearings/bans have on the AA results or the gymnasts' psyches? I'm intrigued!! |

Waw! Just I read this topic now (during a flight connection).
So amazing news to read! Egle also? Is this maybe the reason she has not been present at any FIG events this spring??? This would speak volumes for the clearing process underway.
Bruno has my respect...he shows the leadership now (that he hinted of during the RAI interview after Patras). Ok, let's see how goes now... -T |

As Gergely, let get some hope! I do not think that it was an easy work for Grandi to collect evidences and serious proofs as the cheating is so well implanted in the higher levels as a "normal" system. To get all these cheaters, I think that it takes a patient meticulous work that it could not be done in one day.
Lets hope! _________________ My channel on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/michoumisalade

You know, maybe Viner can't be called the most fair judge
but I love her attitude toward her gymnasts: -she supported Kostina during OG in Barcelona,
- none of her gymnasts is lost ( Kabaeva is deputy, Batyrshina is tv host, Barsukova performed well in show and now she is pregnant, Putintseva is happily married to Viner's car driver, Ira Chaschina has apartment and her book published, Utiasheva (imagine who would care so much about girl with broken legs?!! - I always think about girls from artistic gymnastic- no one knows where they are) is tv-host and performs in shows and ballet)
but look-Skaldina coaches in Russia
Timoshenko is in Germany
Yerofeeva....
We have only 2 gymnasts in Ukraine of high level |

It is easy to care for your own athletes....my problem with her is that in order to promote her athletes she has stepped on the backs of so many others...... |

Hi Sing, your words echo same how I feel just now.
Today I removed the perception of FIG statement (of 8th May) that was running on my page. -T |
