- What happened to Margarita Mamun?

Viner's answer Jun 14, 2014 after Baku EC:
http://www.allsportinfo.ru/index.php?id=83859

"- Margarita - a girl of a different order. Recently, she won all the time. Unfortunately, at the World Cup in Minsk (Belarus) almost before the departure to Baku she hurt her leg a little bit.

Naturally, this leg had to be protected. So many elements of Margarita did not jump in full force.
And it is on the jump today she lost the hoop, and then just could not cope with nerves.

But she -on the other routines made very cool , as I said, she has suffered, and she made the tape is simply brilliant.

Generally this girl by nature - pure angel, so she can never compete. She just need to go out and do everything from the heart. And this we will prepare for the World Championship."

--------------------
...Mamun has leg injury and that explained her lost of hoop during jump. Neutral
I DON'T believe Viner's description of "little bit hurt" just before Baku. Imo, all nonsense.. the leg injury should had been long long time I guess. Quiet
Just keep on "over use" & non-stop competitions to backup weak ribbon Kydryavtseva & buy time to push up 2nd tier successors Svatkovskaya, Titova, now Soldatova. Mamum is definitely the angel in national team, the sacrifice goat as backup, that she was not backed during last Kiev WC as N1. Blub

Strange because her mistakes were more an issue of accidentally letting go/dropping apparatus vs. actual body elements... which read to me like shakiness instead of injury.

In any case, hope she recovers! She has been making improvements this year.

Interesting she turned to a psychologist. Great move, she seemingly couldn't cope with the pressure until Izmir at big competitions (I remember watching her podium training at the Vienna ECh and you could feel the nerves on the stands!). It was clearly in the head for her.

Margarita Mamun's father passes away
http://www.thedailystar.net/sports/margarita-mamuns-father-passes-away-1276255

Abdullah Al Mamun, father of Rio 2016 all-around rhythmic gymnastics gold-medallist Margarita Mamun, passed away in Moscow yesterday at the age of 52 after a long battle with cancer.

News of his demise reached Kashipur village in Rajshahi -- where Mamun was born -- at around 5:30pm yesterday. According to his relatives in Kashipur, Mamun will be buried in Moscow, where he is survived by wife Anna, daughter Margarita and son Philip.

According to his relatives, Mamun had long suffered from a stomach tumour, and his cancer was diagnosed while operating on that tumour.

Mamun , a marine engineer, would often visit Bangladesh and his village Kashipur, where his sister Dina Jahura currently resides.

Mamun was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College after achieving his SSC from Durgapur High School and HSC from Rajshahi Government College. He lost his interest in medical education after seeing the cadaver dissections in the morgue. Later in 1983, he went to Russia on an education scholarship and married a Russian rhythmic gymnast named Anna.

On August 20, Margarita won the gold medal for Russia, sparking celebrations in Moscow as well as in the native land of her father.

My deepest condolences to Rita and her family....May her father rest in peace.
