I asked because I saw Zaripova doing it and I thought a little unfair. In fact, Zaripova has her own leap so they are =. Razz

It's called an Utyasheva because she claimed it as an originality in 2001 or 2002.

Yeah, that confused me, too. Why would the FIG consider it an originality if it was done years before Utyasheva did it?

I have been eager to know this to. She starts in a Backscale balance, and then follows with Temp Fouettes? Confused Is she using it as a combination, or? I hope IH can tell us.

really interesting, i'd say she get's 0.7 for the base (planche) and additionally 0.5 for change of direction and niveau in fouetté. total 1.2
i'd also say it's a balance rather than a flexibility because she is always on relevé however for me she doesn't fix the two last forms enough.

but i'm absolutley not sure if i'm right - so other opinions, please?

Planche(base)0.70+fouette0.50=1.20

This is simple fouette BALANCE.

...But thanks to all of you. Now I see that this element has a really high value...

I thought it would be a balance as it starts in a Backscale balance; Like the Split Leap, where you finish the element in a Backsplit with help, it counts as a Leap.

I think there might be anything on the CoP referring to this specif cases. They're so common. Leap + Balances; Pivots + balances and so on... Does anyone have any idea of where it's written something about these cases?

4.2.2 on page 36 of the CoP:

Quote:
Fouetté Balance:
· minimum 3 times heel support, with changing the shape and/or the
level and/or the direction of the gymnast = +0.5

I can't figure out what any of the other balance listed in that section are supposed to be, like...

Quote:
In addition to the start value:
· continuous free circle movement of the leg – without help - to pass
through several directions, with changing the level and/or changing
the shape of the leg segment, always with gymnast changing the
direction = +0.5

What's that supposed to be? And what does "changing the level" mean? Going down to a knee balance? Or just bending the knee of the support leg?

I try to explain fouette so that everyone can understand:

· minimum 3 times heel support, with changing the shape and/or the
level and/or the direction of the gymnast = +0.5

This means, gymnast, taking heel support 3 times, changes:
shape of the leg (for example, attitude to arabesque - shape of the segment of the free leg changes)
level of the leg (for example, arabesque to front high - hight of the free leg changes from 90 degrees to high level)
directions (gymnast has a rotation around the support leg's axis)

In Bessonova's example:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIwTlSQA68w
1:10-

1) Planche 0.70 (base value)
2) Arabesque (the gymnast changed the level)
3) Side high (the gymnast again changed the level and the direction)
The value: base+0.50=1.20
All the 3 positions must be performed without hopping.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vfX08Q_zSc
Miteva's ball from the same competition 0:30-
1)Planche laterale 0.60
2) Atittude (change of the level, shape and direction of the gymnast)
3) Side high (change of the level, shape and direction)
The value 0.60+0.50=1.10

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFr_zsq4nHY
Weber's hoop from the same competition 0:35-
1) Side high 0.30
2) Side high (change of the direction)
3) Atittude (change of the shape, level and direction)
The value 0.30+0.50 = 0.80
