No problem! Did it help?
I can't put my feets on the floor any more because I am lazy and have got out of the habit of stretching my back so I've lost a little of my flexibility. But it's coming back |
Still trying.
Another question-
Is your foot supposed to be sideways when doing this? |
Yay I can post now!!! I'm new here but I believe she was doing this(fast forward to 8:43):

I know you mentioned this before. Is the 'problem' that your thighs touch? |
Why is that a problem? My thighs touch because I'm small and I have little short legs, in order to get a gap in them I would need to lose A LOT of weight which would be quite unhealthy. I think you need to be naturally a certain build to have a gap. _________________ Bring on the wall!

I put it in quotes because it seems to be a problem for her.
She's small though so I think it's because of the size of her hips. _________________ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBZtHAVvslQ |

How do I make my penchee in more oversplit? My sitting oversplit is almost to 270 degrees, and I can hold it there with the help of my hand, but when I'm doing a penchee balance, it's only in split. _________________ "What gives me confidence is the fact that everyone gets insecure" - Andrew Garfield |

good question! I too have a similar problem....not quite full split in penchee but about 200degree splits.
Doing leg swings with a resistance band tied around each ankle has helped a bit... I should really do more of that. _________________ <3 Kondakova, Kanaeva, Bessonova, Mustafina, McCormick <3 |

Don't know where to ask this so...
I would like to teach the butterfly leap to one of my gymnast, but I don't have any clue how to start... She can do a cartwheel, may it help? Is there by chance anyone here who has an idea?
Thanks! |

I was learing this move while I was training martial arts, it's not so difficult but it requires lots of strength. Here is a good tutorial:

Thank you a lot SleepingAwake! I'll try this next week with my gymnasts... and let's see what happens! |

I'm almost 15 now, and I just have started to strech my back at home. I'm wooden at back (but REALLY! my 18 years-old sister can do things from naturally which I can't do after 5-6 weeks training ). I've improved a bit, and I always relax my back after stretching. But my back always paining now, especially if I try to make it straight. What should I do? Thank you for help! |

Go see a chiropractor for the pain. Make sure you do your research and find one who comes well-reccomended by others.
In general be very gentle with your back and always use your stomach and back muscles to support your spine. Also practice front bends as often as you practice back bends.
Then, when you are better. Focus on improving the flexibility of your hips and shoulders. Even Anna Bessonova didn't have much back flexibility but she's a perfect example of a gymnast who used her hip flexibility to make up for it.
Its pretty normal for girls of the same familly to have different ranges of flexibility. _________________ <3 Kondakova, Kanaeva, Bessonova, Mustafina, McCormick <3 |

walkovers... sigh. okay so i have quite a flexible back and all but im struggling to do back and front walkovers. i can do most of the front walkover properly but my second land either lands behind or in-line with my first. and with the backwards walkover i have a feeling that the bottom leg (one that stays on the ground the longest) isn't strong enough that's why i cant go over? can someone help me please? or give me ways to strengthen my leg? _________________ the most beautiful sport on earth. |

for the back walkover you can try going into bridge by a wall and using the wall to push off of and gradually work your way to the floor over time.
Front walkovers are my nemesis... can't help much there _________________ <3 Kondakova, Kanaeva, Bessonova, Mustafina, McCormick <3 |

I used to have the same problem with the front walkover, I don't know exactly why... But I think the reason can be that you bend the second leg, otherwise it's not possible that the second leg lands behind the first one (or even in the same line), given that the first one is bent...
Anyway I had to perform maaany walkovers in order to improve!
About the back walkover, I learnt it very easily in this way: I performed the front walkover (without standing up), and then, as soon as I could (if possible, without landing with the second leg), I tried to perform the back one... I don't know why, but I found it easier than starting the back walkovers from bridge position. Maybe it's because you haven't finished supplying you weight in the whole body, and the weight is still on the arms...
I hope I have helped you a bit! |
