Jaanku, I don't want to offend anyone here and I definitely think that the ranking system is weak.
My comments were based on these scores from competition A and B (the Nationals).
http://www.score2u.com/RankReport.aspx?event=2012CICB&relEvent=2012CICA
We can clearly see that the ranking is the following:
Bezzubenko
Choi
Parry
Whelan
Huh
I don't consider Elite Canada as a decisive competition (unless there is a big competition following it). It is the first competition of the year where judges get to see the future potential. That is all. We cannot rely only on EC ranking (that is given in March) to send a team for a competition in August. Many things could change in these 5-6 months. That is why ranking from Nats (where we can see who has improved the most since EC) is the real ranking .
After viewing the footage, I agree that Canadian girls looked weak (apart from Patricia and maybe Carmen) but , again, this is what we have for the moment. What else can I say, let's hope another already prepared athlete immigrates from Russia |

You keep missing the point Janna, the way the calculation is done is not fare to the athletes that are injured!!
And, why did Lisa Huh go at all she is one of the weakest athletes I've seen in Canada and the only reason Choi and Lisa were in the mix where because of the rediculous way Canada calculates the athletes. The Nationals should take into account that there is talent at EC and use those scores in a more realistic way. |

As I mentioned before, the Canadian ranking system is weak. Unfortunately, we cannot break the current rules. Perhaps, in the future, GCG should work more on workshops and training camps for promising gymnasts (it is not easy though).
Just out of curiosity, who do you think should have gone to Jun Panam? |

Here is an interview of her. Because she travels to Canada just for 2 competitions a year her English isn't very good but she is adorable.
She is 4 time Canadian Champion and lives and trains in Russia.

That's funny because a friend of mine knows her and said her english is very good... odd.
Regardless, congratulations to Patricia on her first Senior Canadian Championship Title! Hopefully we will see her at the Olympics in 2016 _________________ My youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/xxJodelleFerlandxx?feature=mhee
