Anastasiya is of Bessarabian Bulgarian descent, meaning that she's a Bulgarian from either Ukraine or Moldova. So I'm guessing that she trains in Russia and that's why she participated?

So, is she still part of the Bulgarian team? What's her national ranking?

I was watching her routines this year (a January competition in Russia, forgot what exactly) and I think, IMO, with her level of gymnastics, she should be Bulgaria's second gymnast, next to Miteva.

She is still part of the team, but she had a broken arm recently so Iguess she cannot compete yet. Although she shows good results in the competitions in Russia, in Bulgaria she usually does lots of mistakes especially on the test events. But even so she managed to enter the main team (top 6)

IMO Kisse's routines have very oroginal apparatus work and I love her routines but she is not clean in her body D sadly in a lot of difficulties- I hope she can be the future no 2 of Bulgaria...

I don't think her routines have original apparatus work anymore. Actually, she has the typical Russian routines with typical Russian moves- nothing out of the common really. It's sad she lost completely her presence and personality on the carpet.

Well, she has enough money to pay for it so.. Wink

Btw, to add to my previous post. Having Russian style is not bad per se of course, it's just that there are tons of other girls who are better than her at this style. She will never be as good as them at their style, she could have been something special with her own, unique qualities and routines.

She was something special under Mariana Vassileva's guidance. Now she is just not quite good Russian-like gymnast who profits from the fact that she is ethnic Bulgarian, and Bulgaria has not much internal competition, and she has money to pay for the best trainers and facilities. While Mariana sets routines like Lala's ball for other girls.

Good for her, too bad for us we lost an interesting, different gymnast.
