Here is Hannah Miller's final round skate from Skate Detroit:

She won. She gets quite nice lift on loop especially, and her Lutz looked much improved to me last night (much less flutzed). She has solid technique and I think her jumps are actually fairly strong. They may not soar like Gracie's, but not many people's do.
Karen Chen (her 3Lz-3Lo combo in her SP and her entire LP) from the Silicon Valley Open! Incredible!

New Alena Leonova number to a Tango. I'm not sure whether it will be a program or not.

Adelina Sotnikova exhibition
Her lutz looks better. Still not a very deep edge (probably closer to no edge) but better than a true flutz.

Some news on Brian Joubert:
-he took a 3 week break, except some light running
-he is keeping the same SP, but will skate the long to Inception
-he will be in Courchevel with the French team for the last 2 weeks of July
- the Poitiers rink is closing and he will share his time between 3 rinks in Niort, Tours and Paris. Patrick Gueppe, one of his coaches, is in Tours. Guyon is at another rink in Chatellerault, but Brian does not want to go there, because the rink is too small. He still wants to work with Veronique though. In Paris, he will train with Annick Dumont's group.
- This season is important but not major for him (Not sure how to properly translate "capitale"). He will get a lighter competition schedule (Not sure if he is talking about the GP, the French masters/Nationals, or Senior Bs, but I am afraid he means GP)

Here are the results of the Glacier Falls summer comp.
Mirai won, but barely. Looks like the judges really dinged her on her technical score. Her PCS probably wasn't too high either since she did seem to get slower as the performance went on.
1. Mirai Nagasu: 156.60 (99.92 FS)
2. Vanessa Lam 155.76 (107.88 FS)
3. Courtney Hicks 143.20 (96.29 FS)
I love Saint Saen's Organ Symphony! I fell in love with that music when Miki skated to it at 2009 Worlds. I'm not sure if it suits Mirai's style, but we'll see what she does with it. It really seems she was running out of gas in the second half. I wish the music cuts were a little better so that the music built more for the ending though. And I wish they would put in the sal again.
Mirai two footed a ton of jumps and when you two foot that many jumps, the points really add up. The other thing is she didn't do a three jump combo and missed a combination on one of the loops, making one of the loops a sequence (hence only getting 80% of the full value). Combine these with the UR second lutz and second loop (and maybe the first loop and lutz and the flip depending on how nice they wanted to be), that adds up to a lot of points lost.

Walk champion Schwazer excluded for doping
By Naomi O'Leary
ROME, Aug 6 (Reuters) - Italy's Olympic 50km race walk champion Alex Schwazer was excluded from the London Games on Monday after he failed a doping test.
"I made a mistake. My career is finished," Schwazer, who took gold at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and is the boyfriend of world champion figure skater Carolina Kostner, told the Italian news agency Ansa.
"I wanted to be stronger for this Olympics, I made a mistake," added the 27-year-old.
The confirmation came after the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) said they had excluded an athlete due to "an adverse result" from a test conducted by the World Anti-Doping Agency WADA.
They said the athlete had not yet arrived in London.
Schwazer became a hero in Italy four years ago after he won gold by knocking more than a minute off a 20-year-old Olympic record set by Vyacheslav Ivanenko of the former Soviet Union, despite challenging conditions.
Australian Jared Tallent was second in that race in Beijing.
Schwazer, who set an Italian record in the 20km in March, had been one of Italy's big medal hopes in a sport where athletes move as fast as they can while keeping one foot in contact with the ground at all times.
The Olympic 50km race walk is scheduled for Aug 11.
"I trusted him, he took me for a ride. Just to think, a few months ago I put my daughter Micol in his arms for her baptism," Schwazer's coach Michele Didoni, himself a former race walking world champion, told Italian news agency AGI.
"It's not right, I believe I'll quit athletics. It's the biggest blow of my life."
Italians quickly took to the athlete's Facebook page, where he has over 8,000 fans, to voice their disappointment and anger.
"It's better to come last through your own efforts than to win with help. Shame on you!" wrote one.
Schwazer, a clean-cut figure known for appearing in an advertisement for Kinder chocolate bars, said last month he would not compete in the 20km and would concentrate on the 50 instead.
He said he had taken the decision with team coaches after suffering a bout of influenza.
Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) president Gianni Petrucci said it had been "a bitter day" for Italian athletics.
"He had great results, ruined by this terrible news, which has upset us," Petrucci told local TV. "We ordered...the explusion of the athlete. The decision is clear: we cannot compromise, we might lose a medal but we will gain in honesty." (Reporting By Luca Trogni in Milan, editing by Alan Baldwin)

The reason why I'm posting this here is because he is Carolina Kostner's boyfriend!
Here is an interview they did together some time ago:

Olympic champ Evan Lysacek officially announces return to skating
Olympic figure skating champion Evan Lysacek's decision to return took all of an hour.
In training for the past year, Lysacek made his return official Friday and announced that he is entered for Skate America in October - his first competition since winning the gold medal in Vancouver in 2010.
He will aim for a spot on the U.S. team at the 2014 Sochi Olympics. Both his programs are done, he's got a quad, and he's eager to defend his Olympic title, something no man has done since Dick Button in 1952.
"I'm locked and loaded, so to speak," Lysacek said. "Nothing's made me happier than training every single day."
Lysacek's life was a whirlwind following his gold in Vancouver, the first by a U.S. man since Brian Boitano in 1988. He competed on "Dancing with the Stars," did skating shows, made appearances for sponsors, did speaking engagements and, most recently, worked with the State Department as a sports envoy.
He enjoyed all of it. But the whole time, Lysacek was feeling the pull of the ice.
"I'm an athlete. I love to train, I love to compete," Lysacek said. "It just took me trying other activities to realize this is what makes me happy."
Before he made any promises or commitments, though, Lysacek figured he'd train a few days and make certain this really was what he wanted.
"After about an hour of training, I just knew I was going to do this," he said.
Lysacek is still working with longtime coach Frank Carroll, meeting him at a rink in Ontario, Calif., halfway between Los Angeles and Carroll's new rink near Palm Springs. On the days he and Carroll don't meet, Lysacek works with Karen Kwan in the Los Angeles area.
Lysacek had considered competing last season, going so far as to get a long program done and put his name back in the pool for Grand Prix assignments. But negotiations with U.S. Figure Skating over his return hit a snag, and he wound up not competing.
All of that has been resolved, and Lysacek said the extra few months turned out to be a bonus. His short program is done, and he's put more emphasis on building strength and stamina for the second half of his free skate, where elements are worth more.
Every last point is sure to be important in Sochi in 2014.
Patrick Chan has won the last two world titles, putting up one monster score after another. Always one of the most expressive skaters, Chan now has the tough tricks to match, with quads in both of his programs.
Evgeni Plushenko, the 2006 Olympic champion and silver medalist in Vancouver, returned late last year and promptly won the European title.
"I feel strong now, I feel prepared and, dare I say it, even better than in Vancouver," Lysacek said. "I really feel the most important thing for me was not to come back as the same athlete in Vancouver, but to come back better."
Lysacek's return is sure to be a boost for the Americans, who are down to just two spots at the world championships after having three from 2005 to 2011.
The Americans will have to finish with a combined placement of 13 or better at this year's worlds to earn three spots in Sochi, but no U.S. man has finished higher than fifth the past three years.
Lysacek, the world champion in 2009, has never finished lower than fifth at an Olympics or world championships.
"This year is probably the most crucial going into Sochi," Lysacek said. "It's an important time for us as a U.S. men's team to take a stand and show the skating world and Olympic world that we're still a powerhouse and still a force to be reckoned with."
