Currently I live in South Korea.
I think golf is the most popular sport here. Of course soccer and baseball are one of the beloved sports in a traditional sense. And after Yuna Kim, figure skating is on the rise, too. Where you live, and how is it like there?
Oh, and happy lunar new year everyone! |

European Football, European Football, and European Football.
No, just kidding. Altough we are so fed up with football, and not because we have exceptional teams who constantly win everywhere they compete, but because of all the scandals and extreme money making (and spending) and well...because it has somewhat transformed into some kind of circus/business where the sport itself just gets lost or is forgotten. And because that's all they show on TV, sports news=football news.
Anyways, I guess we still love AG, as you know, we have a long history in this field, also basketball is popular, handball, tennis, swimming, athletics...
And it's a no no for RG, of course. _________________ http://uk.youtube.com/profile?user=Upy05 |

I can understand you perfectly. It's the same in Italy! I don't have anything against soccer, it isn't a bad sport (even if I don't follow it) but it's almost the only sport which is showed on TV. I hate that TV broadcasts live a lot of useless matches (as matches of Italian teams who competes in D category) without showing a RG world cup! |

In Belgium soccer is definitely the most popular sport. Newspapers are full of articles of soccer and gymnastics barely gets an article.. In october the Belgian teams gained 10 out of 12 possible medals at the EC acrobatics gymnastics and there was just one small article in the newspaper...
Other popular sports are tennis, cyclo-cross and bicycle racing. _________________ There is a bit of insanity in dancing that does everybody a great deal of good. |

Being from the United States...
American Football, Baseball, Basketball...yep, that's pretty much it.
...and as espressolovah has already said, in South Korea...GOLF. My older male coworkers talk about nothing but golf during the lunch break in the teacher's lounge. XD
Also, figure skating's popular with quite a few of my students. =D |

ZOMG Ice Hockey!
I actually like Hockey better than other non-artistic sports. It's a lot more fast paced that football (amercian or normal) and I have a lot of apriciation for what the athletes do. I do get sick of listening to one of my best friends constantly argue with one of my other friends about who's province's team is better tho.
It's like "can we please talk about a different sport now?- like maybe the one we actually do!" (although in my friend's defense she is not just a Vaulter but also a Hockey player) _________________ <3 Kondakova, Kanaeva, Bessonova, Mustafina, McCormick <3 |

Spain too!!! It's WAY more important for the Sport TV news and newspapers if Cristiano Ronaldo grows a spot in his face than the Spanish group getting the gold in the RG test even or any other achievement from a spaniard in a minoritary sport.
It's just RIDICULOUS, I'm sick of hearing from Real Madrid, Barcelona, Mourinho, Guardiola and all the media-fake-fighting........
Basketball, tennis, cycling and F1 or motorbike all together make the other 20% of Sport Tv time or newspaper coverage.

Canada=Hockey. Everyone plays hockey at some point in their life unless they're like me and refuse to conform to social norms. I really hate hockey.
Figure Skating is pretty big here too, especially because of olympians Joannie Rochette, Patrick Chan, and Virtue and Moir.
Everyone seems to play soccer as well, but I never liked it. I quit after they tried to make me play goalie. Basketball and Volleyball are also popular in school, and curling is gaining popularity.
Gymnastics is the most unrepresented, disrespected sport in Canada. It's horrible. I said that I do RG and everyone always says "What? Like with the bars and the rings?" _________________ My youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/xxJodelleFerlandxx?feature=mhee
