Thanks for the results !
I couldn't open the AA results but i'm happy to see that in the finals day ,Karina Jerogina won some gold medals.
This young graceful gymnast is very expressive for her young age and beautiful to watch.
Hopefully she will make the ball final in the next EC,it's my favourite routine from her ,even if i prefer her old beautiful romantic music.
But i guess you can't ignore the fact that it was the Russian group's music for their most successful routine and this music was the best thing that Zaripova did in her career. .People will always do the comparison,...so it's a smart idea that she changed her music to something different and more original.
Her new ball -

Just manually copy the whole link as it is and then you can open the all-around results as well For some reason, it doesn't allow me to enter the link properly here... _________________ http://www.hot.ee/rhythmicgymnastics/ |

I can't give definite answers, but what I see on facebook is that she's taken interest in extreme sports, such as snowboarding and surfing, and seems to be very much into it, so maybe she went over to the other side... I do understand it though, will be difficult to compete with the long-legged juniors who are going to be seniors next year... But as I said, I'm not sure and she could be back soon _________________ http://www.hot.ee/rhythmicgymnastics/ |

"long legged"/"short legged" doesn't mean you will rank high or low.
The last World champions were Kabaeva,Kanaeva,Vitchenko,Petrova etc'
The most successful junior nowdays is Soldatova.
I will not describe them "long legged" gymnasts, but they still won the golds because of their skills, originality, expression etc'
And thanks for your advice for the AA results,i will try to open it at home.. |

Well, I'm not saying that it is a factor, but I always remember how in the 90s Irina Stadnik (Jerygina's coach) was a definite 2nd gymnast in Estonia, while when in the title championships she was far behind the 3rd number, and everybody knew that it was her height.. Unfortunately, that's how superficial it is. And Mari-Liis doesn't have Kabaeva's hyperflexibility so it's only so far she can go with her originality. She is far more interesting to watch than most of the other seniors in Estonia, but... _________________ http://www.hot.ee/rhythmicgymnastics/ |

Yes.you are right,During the 90' the situation was different.
I also remember Serbyanskya's gold medal in the OG of 1996 when Vitchenko deserved it more.
Lucky us that the height isn't the factor, otherwise Mitroz was often on the poduim.. |

Off topic- but Soldatova most CERTAINLY has long legs, and so even do the Averina twins despite being short, and Kudryatseva...... and in comparison to a normal person Kanaeva and Kabaeva also have long legs. |

I think a lot of gymnasts 'appear' to have long legs. Teodora Alexandrova was around 5 feet and 2 inches (not exact) and she kind of looked like she had long legs. Nastia Liukin is 5 feet 1 inch and is considered long-legged.
I think Kanaeva's legs look proportional.
The cut of the bottom half of the 90s unitards and leg sleeved unitards in general also may have made a difference. _________________ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBZtHAVvslQ |
