I dont know what others would call it... But in England, the first one starts as a penchee, into a forward walkover to flexion, then up to straight ring... I dont know if it has a combination name?
The second one is straight ring, to flexion, then up to straight ring again... again, I dont know if it has a combination name?
Sorry if that hasnt helped! Lol |

Thank you...we call the first one walk over into back balance and the next one we call back balance/arch back/back balance but we know they are not the technical names. We were trying to explain them to a coach through an email and wanted to know if their was technical names for these. |

I am sorry but how penchee looks like? I know it's a funny question. They say it is found in an arabesque movement. _________________ *Don't ever let someone tell you that you can't do something. You got a dream, you got to protect it. it is common for small children to make this during a freehands excercise. You will see it a lot of time when you watch freehands excercise of children (i'm not speaking about the best gymnasts in russia ofcourse, lower level). |

No, it's a slow turn on the knee. They existed back in the COP back then and a lot of gymnasts did them. Pivots on the knee did also exist but I only saw one gymnast perform them (probably because they are pretty knee-damaging): Yulia Golubenko in 2001/2002. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be videos of her performing that element on youtube _________________ Jon |

I wonder how many knee replacements and injuries it took before they figured that out.
What would it count as today? _________________ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBZtHAVvslQ |

My coach calls them 'Penche'. I'm sure there's a technical name, but every coach probably has a different way of saying it. _________________ My youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/xxJodelleFerlandxx?feature=mhee

If I'm not mistaken then it costed something like 0,4 for the whole round. I did it for years and my knees are perfectly fine, so I wouldn't say that it was damaging. _________________ http://www.hot.ee/rhythmicgymnastics/ |
