Hey, it seems the server recovered the old speed...
From now on, I'll upload non-streamable files and will try to slow people down from downloading so eagerly.
Thank you for your support and let's see what happens in the future!

This issue has come back! Some day they'll kick me out of the server for ever. Meanwhile, i'm sorry to say we'll have to deal with a very slow connection.
A good way to save bandwidth is using the right button of the mouse and select "Save file as..." before viewing it in your computer. So you'll avoid streaming and will have a better video experience while you save me a lot of troubles.
No server can stand more than 1.100.000 downloaded videos a month, which means more than 200 Gb a day without asking a lot of money for it!!! And, of course, I can't also pay for that. Thus, if I'm kicked out (or better said, when I'm kicked out, because they'll do it for sure some day), it will mean the end of RSGVIDEOS.

Guillermo, personnally I use download accelerator, "Download Accelerator Plus (DAP)", to download your vidéos : it's good for the bandwich of your website or not ? _________________ www.lagr-forum.com : the French RG forum

Is there any way you can make the streaming unavailable, so that one has to download the video to be able to see it?? _________________ And those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who could not hear the music |

Hmmm, I'm a big fan of RSG Videos, so reading this thread is completely devastating.
I was thinking of something, so here's my suggestion.
I don't know if resources would be needed for this and if it would end up being as expensive as the 200 Euro thing a month, but... What if a FREE membership is needed to have access to the videos? I don't know the cost of this, but maybe a limit of download per day or per week could be set to each account. Three videos maximum a day?
I guess it is, after all, a restriction, and it would require a lot of work... I think that there are people in here who would be willing to work a bit for the site.
Another thing... I've seen there are people who are willing to help the site economically. Since the 200 Euro a month thing is practically impossible to achieve, why not buy a few domains? Two or three? I'm talking about cheap domains. Linking to them from RSG videos sounds like a solution to me... But, again, I don't know how cheap or expensive domains can be.
It is the best solution I've thought of so far, but, then again, I don't know about the economical part of this... And it's just a suggestion.
Whatever happens, I really hope there is a solution for the problems of the site. Thanks for sharing all those videos with us, Guillermo. |

Thank you for your ideas. By now, I'll try to contact my provider and see if they would be willing to get it back to the old situation. If not, I'll think about putting some Google Ads at my site, which might be annoying but, if people keep clicking regularly, might help with the maintenance's cost of a better hosting.
I'll take a look about different chances and let's see what happens. Thank you anyhow!

My answer is that I have no idea, but I imagine it won't be a good thing having 5000 users usind DAP, because it boosts the consumption of bandwidth. I would say it's not good for my site. |

OK
Now I'll don't use DAP on your website
I think it's a good idea to put a message on your website for invite people to don't use a download accelerator

It seems that, after much time waiting for the problem to be fixed, my server will remain so slow like it is for an undetermined time.
I can't pay for a better server, not 200€ a month, it's too much. I can give my time and work, but I haven't money for this.
I'm sorry for the very bad service I'm giving now and the lack of updates in the last month. I'm also sad that this great idea has this reward.
Well, that's life...
