At present time there are like 5 or 6 around all the time and they are more than enough now that they can ban problematic users, or spammers. The list is so long since we thought it was better to have more people just in case, but is only a precaution.

even though some aren't online now (or never who knows) we have a number of moderators who ARE online |

Please note that I am no longer a moderator of this forum. I come here now as a normal user and I kindly ask all users not to send me moderating request anymore. Thank you _________________ RG is the true reason to go on in my life! |

There are various reasons for it and I don't find it apropriate to share them all with everyone but one is that I feel like having back the essence of that forum to me which is exchanging ideas with other people and meeting (future) friends with whom I have had and I'll have great times at competitions rather then being busy with all the moderating staff and not have time anymore for the essentials. I have explained my other reasons to the people who are concerned and this is enough.
Thank you for your understanding. _________________ RG is the true reason to go on in my life! |

Hi Jon, have no exact knowledge... Just from memory, sometime around 2004-2005 or so, Nikki went for the most part inactive. She would check in with the mods every once in awhile...one year she left a note that she still lived in Victoria and was active moderating a forum there for Australian rules football (just now I did find a "NikkiNoo" on bigfooty.com/forum) and she offered a bit of advice from her experience there. Just I met her briefly at Sydney 2000 outside the arena.
Mods are all volunteer and for whenever they have time to visit. Since the internet is 24hours, generally Alex likes to cover all the main world regions/time zones...so there is someone responsible, part-time at least, around the clock to keep an eye out for any bad boy spammers, inappropriate content postings, move topics to best sub-forums etc etc. Did a quick look just now and noticed Alex must have edited the mod line-up down sometime recently, to show more active or somewhat active mods that are still around and I didn't see Nikki listed. She may have moved onto other things in life, can't say mate. Tho can imagine, once you go rhythmic, it never ever leaves you))) Also mods come & go on their own. I left for awhile after rsg.net1.0 and returned a bit later for rsg.net2.0. Patrick (may God bless him in heaven now) left about the time I came back. Others like Marie and Anna make changes in life and yet are still active here and on the RG scene one way or another. Periodically, when mod ranks get thin...Alex will ask for ideas, nominations and most recent, we all agreed on Tahnee. Hope this explains somewhat... |

Welcome 'rsgmann' (Alan Aartz) from USA as rsg.net's newest moderator.
Here is to briefly introduce Alan to you all…
Rsgmann (Alan Aartz) has been active in RG since the early 90's, when his daughters (Jackie & Nikki) were active participants in the sport in USA. Rsgmann's primary focus has always been as a content provider of videos for the rhythmic community. Through his own video cameras and his extensive network of contacts within the sport…since 1998, he has maintained the video archive site-> http://www.rsgmann.com/
The internet and technical expertise of Rsgmann and his gifted daughter Beika Aartz is second to none. Alex, the mods and the forum are lucky to have them aboard. Rsg.net forum will be more then safe and secure now for years to come in the future.
As a team, both Alan & Beika were instrumental during the last major mod action from 16-18 October 2011. At that time, there was a GIANT spam attack on the forum that took three mods combining forces to stop. Honestly, it was an unprecedented attack (9-pages of spam , 500+ posts)!!! Only with Alan's help and his daughter Beika (complete techie and coding whiz!) particularly with her analysis...were we able to handle this dangerous spammer-bot that got loose in the 'Off Topic' forum. Their advice was invaluable to us re how to disable and permanently ban this badboy spammer, whew!
Welcome Alan (rsgmann) and family as new mod! |
