Yea if you go to sleep at around 11 its probably not a good idea not to eat after five. But you shouldnt feel full when you go to sleep, I think its ok/good to feel a little hungry when you go to sleep (as your whole body can relax and restore as well, instead of diagesting food). I find if i go to sleep at around 10 and dont eat after 6 this works well as although it is 4 hours before I sleep and 13 hours before I eat breakfast I'm not actually that hungry and I do have enough energy. |

chloé, 10 kg are really many...
I think you should contact a doctor to have a correct diet. _________________ Alessandra

Yeah I think purple is right - 10kgs is a LOT and you need to be really careful, especially if you're not overweight to start with? Exercise-wise, you'll need to do both endurance (for fat-burning) and also some light weights (to build up your lean muscle mass which will make you more toned and also help to up your metabolism). |

Holly and Purple are right Chloé, 10 kg is quite a big deal. How much do you weight right now and for what height? You can check if your expectations about your future weight are reasonable here (website in French): http://www.passeportsante.net/fr/Maux/Tests/Fiche.aspx?doc=massecorpo_ts
And don't forget that muscles weight much more than fat. When you do RG again, you will lose fat and develop muscles (I didn't get if you were doing 17-25h a week or a month in France, which is very different, but you will gain muscles anyway). So the result might not be very big in terms of kilograms but you will see the difference in your shape ! |

well, for starters, would you mind posting your height and weight?
i know that this isn't very accurate but it would give us a general idea...
i, too wouldn't mind losing maybe 4-5 pounds... |

actually it is really unhealthy to eat right before bed or a nap. when you sleep your metabolism enters a resting state, meaning it utilises calories slower. if you fill up your stomach right before this, you don't digest all the food and the extra is stored as fat. so in other words, if you eat right before bed, you might gain weight. _________________ ::live laugh love:: |

Research has shown that eating at night (or before going to bed) does not cause weight gain. From healthlibrary.epnet.com:
"Eat late=gain weight? This myth has been around for years, and although some people could swear that their late-night eating habits do make them gain weight, recent research has shown that your body doesn’t process food differently at different times of the day. The total amount of calories that you take in, and how much you exercise during the day, are what affect your weight. However, many people do tend to overeat and choose high-calorie foods as snacks at night, both of which will cause weight gain."
And from BBC news:
"The bottom line is a calorie is a calorie whenever you eat it," [Nigel Denby of the British Dietetic Association] told BBC News Online. "Your body doesn't really recognise what time of day it is. It is a little bit of a myth."
Still, I'm not going to eat late because I don't like the feeling I get lying down to sleep after eating...it's just so uncomfortable! _________________ "The world is divided into two classes - those who believe the incredible, and those who do the improbable." --Oscar Wilde |

Yes, I heard this the other week from my nutrition lecturer. Apparantely it would only make a different of approximately 200 calories. _________________ http://www.youtube.com/Tahnee2612 |
